Congratulations to the Wrawby Person of the Year 2024 - Peter Townsend.
Peter was nominated and awarded the Wrawby Person of the Year 2024 for his volunteer work as school governor, PCC treasurer, editor of the monthly magazine, grass cutter and auditor at the Mill and an all round kind hearted person who will do whatever he can to help. Thank you Peter, you make Wrawby a better place!
Vice Chair, Cllr Mike Reddish, presenting Chris Rothery with a "ceremonial trowel" as thanks and recognition of his hard work keeping Wrawby looking beautiful with all the floral displays.
Our regular dog walkers would have noticed a new bin has been installed Highfield Lane. This is for dog waste and litter. Thank you to Cllr Janice Keilthy for pursuing this and for NLC for installation
CONGRATULATIONS!
The nominations closed for the Wrawby Person of the Year in August.
It was overwhelming that we received so many nominations for a wonderful couple, Diane & Paul Coult. As Cllr Mark Hebblewhite said on presenting them with the award just before the start of Wrawby Parish Council meeting, Wrawby would be a darker place without them and their hard work.
Just a few comments received in the nominations
"They bring our community together on the festive times of the year with the Sleigh Group which takes an enormous amount of organising and they collect monies for a charity"
"They organise events at the Jolly Miller pub with Paul's Music night without any charge at all.
They have both organised other events in previous years. They are a driving force, a great team and deserve to be recognised for what they do for our village of Wrawby"
"Paul organises a remembrance gathering each year which is held outside of the church thereby including everyone in this secular event particularly veterans and those who have lost love ones."
"In particular, they should be recognised for their work putting together the Wrawby Horticultural Show each year"
"They really do personify the best of our amazing village and they work tirelessly and with good humour to support our village community. Nothing that is asked of them is too much trouble and they are just really lovely people with the interests of the village at heart"
Thanks, must also go to Chris Rothery who was nominated for his care and hard work to enhance our village with all the floral displays and to Kathleen Flewker who was nominated for her hard work in organising the social gatherings and lunches for our older residents

Community Planting
Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers lead by Cllrs Mark Hebblewhite and Mike Reddish who have started the community sustainable planting. On a damp Good Friday morning the community fruit trees were planted at the Playing Fields. Once they have become established and bearing fruit they will be for the whole community to enjoy.
Huge thanks to the very generous North Lincolnshire Community Grant we are able to bring Sustainable Planting to the whole of our village. If you would like to get involved with volunteering with the in bloom project please do get in touch.

Wrawby Parish Council Uncontested Elections - Councillors for 2023-2027
SPEED SIGNS! -Thanks to part funding from a North Lincolnshire Council Community Grant, we will be installing two new flashing speed signs very soon to keep our road users and pedestrians safe. Wrawby 3rd CPRE Best Kept Village 2022
NEW!! Lifesaving Defib unit installed at 7 Bakersfield, DN20 8SZ by kind permission of Steven Hinch. The defib unit was purchased by Wrawby Parish Council with the support of the North Lincs Council Community Grant and was installed and maintenance paid for by Steve...Thank you so much!! A real partnership effort.

At the Wrawby Parish Council Annual Meeting on May 23rd, Cllr Mark Hebblewhite was elected the new Chair and Cllr Mike Reddish elected Vice Chair.
Huge thanks to Cllr Ian Smith for his valuable and committed service as Chair for many years.
NEW path installed on Wrawby Playing Field - Thank you to North Lincolnshire Community Grant Pot for part funding this project - making the play equipment and village hall accessible for all. Pictured are some of the Wrawby Parish Councillors and two of our ward councillors, Rob and Carl.
